The Museum's education team draws from their diverse backgrounds in education and research as they share the Museum's resources with visitors and through statewide outreach efforts.
How we help
For our educators, the museum is a living classroom for teacher workshops and for field trip visitors offering a variety of programs including endangered species, mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, invertebrates, plants, and fossils.
For schools across the state, our outreach educators distribute instructional materials and present hands-on, interactive educational programs and teacher training workshops.
Museum programs include hands-on activities, observation of live and mounted specimens, and/or video presentations.
Hands-on presentations are correlated to the state science curriculum objectives and are both content and grade appropriate.

MDWFP's Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is truly an off-site, living classroom and should be considered a very important part of any curriculum.
