Fishing Report - Updated 5/6/24
Bass | Bass fishing has been good recently. Bass are post-spawn, so try fishing with Texas-rigged soft plastics, flukes, and crankbaits. A few anglers are beginning to have success with topwater lures as well. |
Crappie | The crappie bite has slowed somewhat. Minnows and jigs are working as well as anything, but experiment with different color combos to find what they prefer. |
Bream | The bream fishing is good, and both boat and bank anglers are having some success. Crickets under a cork were the bait of choice, but don't overlook small spinners or tightlining red worms around cover and along primary drop-offs for shellcrackers (redear). |
Catfish | A few catfish are beginning to be caught by bank anglers. Try tight lining worms, liver, or koolaid flavored chicken. |
Water temperature: 71
